Values

Decolonization, Indigenization & Anti – Racism:

We acknowledge and understand that colonization and systemic racism have deeply impacted Indigenous Peoples, their traditional ways of life, self governance and environment. We work to unlearn and re-address oppressive narratives and stereotypes and advocate for Indigenous rights to sovereignty and self governance and the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

Safe Communities:

We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, secure and supported in their communities.

Compassion & Understanding:

We aim to deliver community support and provide services that are trauma informed and grounded in empathy and compassion. We understand that trauma, systemic injustice, poverty and stigma can leave long lasting negative impacts on individuals and their families.

Social Justice:

We are passionate about creating an equitable society where every individual, family and community are treated fairly and given every opportunity to flourish and reach their full potential. We advocate for dismantling systemic barriers and oppressive policies that prevent marginalized groups from having equal and culturally appropriate accessing to community care, resources and opportunities.

Harm Reduction:

We recognize harm reduction as an inherent right to health, dignity and self governance.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

We acknowledge the existence of bias, prejudice, and systematic barriers that prevent marginalized people and communities from participating and contributing in a wide range of environments including professional, academic and political spaces. We understand that many groups and communities that have been historically oppressed are often excluded from decision making and providing diverse perspectives and experiences. We challenge all sectors to develop, implement, and adhere to policies and procedures that support an equitable environment, inclusive of contributions from people with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.
